Engineering Drawing

ENGINEERING DRAWING Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12; 1 Semester, Ability = All

Engineering is one of the fastest growing and most in demands fields in industry. Students will begin to discover and develop engineering practices, including scale drawing, measuring and print reading, along with the manufacturing process. Students will be using Autodesk 2016 CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) software to develop 3-D models  that can be transferred over to our new 3-D printer. Several different projects will be completed using the 3-D printer to create prototypes of products designed by the class. Additionally, after the prototypes are completed, finalized designs will be fabricated using the CNC plasma cutter. These skills, along with other skills developed in class will be useful in several different skilled trades including drafters, carpenters, electricians, mechanics just to name a few. This course will be helpful to students looking to take other classes in the industrial technology or agricultural dept. or for students who want to learn how other high school classes are applied.
