Advanced Foods

ADVANCED FOODS Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12; 1 Semester, Ability = All   Prerequisite = Food Basics
 
If you have a special interest in cooking, or are planning a career in food service or nutrition/dietetics, this course may interest you. This course offers units in preparing specialty foods such as deviled eggs, scones, Southwestern soup, Lefse’, Sushi, Stir Fry Vegetables, and special candies just to name some potential lab experiences. The student will study special dietary needs of children, teens, elderly, and persons modifying diets to control fat, sugar sodium, or weight.
