A Scholastic Book Fair Fundraiser will be held Tuesday, March 6th, 3pm - 8pm, and Thursday, March 8th, 8am - 8pm, in the FES Media Center during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please mark these dates on your calendar and plan to visit this wonderful fundraising opportunity for our FES Library!  

Preschool Registration
ECFE and School Readiness Programs will be holding registration on Tuesday, March 13th  from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at FES.  Letters with information will be mailed to those families who are in our Early Education database.  If you do not receive an informational letter, please contact the Foley Elementary School Office. Information is also located on our website-www.foley.k12.mn.us > Academics > Elementary School

Student Attendance   
Attendance at school is essential to the educational success of students at all levels.  In the event that your child will be absent, we ask that you notify the Elementary Office as soon as possible.  This can be done by calling the Attendance Line at 968-7286 or emailing .  
An absence left unreported is marked Unexcused.       
Picture Day is Coming
Picture Day is coming Tuesday, March 27th and Wednesday, March 28th. School portraits by Lifetouch offer casual, studio-style photography that gives students more freedom to create a look that’s truly their own. Flyers will be sent home in March and there is no obligation to buy. Spring pictures will only be taken of those students whose parents have returned their order form with payment. Order forms will be sent home with the students.

“March Food Drive”
The second grade “Goodness Gorillas” are collecting food for the C.R.O.S.S Center.  Please help us reach our goal of 1,000 pounds of food.  Donated food items can be placed in the designated boxes located in the hallway outside the lunchroom.  We will collect food and household items March 12 - 23
Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment
MCA testing for reading and math will be April 9th, 10th and 11th and April 25th, 26th and 27th for 3rd grade.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT STUDENTS ATTEND SCHOOL FOR THIS TESTING.  Please plan ahead for vacations and appointments.  All 3rd graders will be using their headphones for this testing.  If your child does not have a pair, please make sure they do before MCAs. They are available in the FES Office for $5.00.
News From the Kitchen
National School Breakfast Week is March 5-9
"Energize with School Breakfast"
Breakfast is so important to begin your day! Students who eat breakfast maintain a healthy weight, have better concentration and memory, reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math and score higher on tests. Breakfast is so important and we have it available everyday in school from 7:45-8:05 each morning.  We will be giving ALL Students at the Elementary a special "Start your day with Breakfast" Bag with different items in it about how important breakfast is. We will be inviting special people to assist in serving breakfast as well during this week.
Monday, March 5th: Scrambled Eggs, Buttered Toast, Homemade Jam, Pears and Milk
Tuesday, March 6th: French Toast off the Griddle, Strawberries w/ topping, Juice & Milk
Wednesday, March 7th is National Cereal Day! Hot Oatmeal with fixings or Cold Cereal, Egg Pop, Apple Slices and Milk
Come and enjoy Breakfast! Student price is $ 1.50.
