January 28, 2021
CCG: If you are interested in joining Communicating Common Ground, a diversity and leadership program partnered with other local school and SCSU, please contact Ms. Pelowski. Join the google classroom for more information and updates. (Code: qayc74i https://classroom.google.com/
For all students currently in the Google Classroom, it will be assumed that you wish to participate. Our first event is scheduled to be held Wednesday Feb 10 from 3:00-5:00pm (virtually, as of now). This is a great opportunity to meet other students from other districts, network with university students and professors, and looks great on a resume.
Seniors who plan to enroll in a field of study rooted in agri-education or agri-business, Farm Show Scholarship for 2021 has a new deadline – was due February 1, but is now due April 1, 2021. Students will still apply for this one scholarship at www.CentralMNFarmShow.com. Our in-person Central Minnesota Farm Show tradeshow has been cancelled for 2021 as there simply isn’t a safe way to bring several thousand people together. Instead, the committee is now preparing an online educational agricultural conference called Farming Today, which will be held via Zoom on March 9-10, free and open to the public. Because the tradeshow was cancelled, this gives the committee more time to work on raising funds. We will award as many scholarships as possible this year, though I cannot provide an exact number or amount at this time. Students are welcome to attend any part of this two-day event and listen to speakers that pique their interest! More details on the conference will be available soon on our new event website (not currently live, but will be by February 1 – www.CentralMNFarmingToday.com)
Seniors: Just a reminder to pay close attention to the deadlines for scholarships offered on the Foley High School website. The Optimist Scholarship is due this Friday the 29th. A Foley High student will get this scholarship. The Local Scholarship Packet will be available on Monday, February 8th. Please watch your email for directions and packet.
