                    FHS Daily Announcements - Wednesday,  November 17,  2021

There will be a walk thru FHS and FIS for the State qualifying Swimmers today starting at 2:45 from the high school. Please excuse the State Swimmers and Drumline students at 2:35.

ATTENTION SENIORS:  The all senior group photo will take place next week on Wednesday, November 24th during flex.  Please listen to the announcements and check your email and Senior Class Google classroom for further details.

The junior class will be hosting a Thanksgiving event this Saturday.  If you are a junior, but haven't been to a Prom Committee meeting but would like to help with this event please stop in to see Mrs. Keating in room 310.  

We have the opportunity to host a guest speaker tomorrow, Reggie Dabbs.  We will run an altered schedule where we will repeat 2nd period and all students will have the opportunity to see Reggie in the gym.  There will be no Flex Time.  At the conclusion of 1st period Thursday, 11th and 12th graders should go to the gym.  9th and 10th graders will go to 2nd period.  At approximately 10:00 we will switch, 11th & 12th to 2nd period and 9th & 10th to the gym.  Please pay attention to seating instructions in the gym as it may be different with just two grades.

Attention Seniors:  The Minnesota State High School League sponsors the Triple ‘A’ Award to honor high school seniors throughout the state who have a 3.0 or higher grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities. Only one male and one female can be nominated from each school.  

Students must:

  • Be a senior in high school
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of nomination  
  • Participate in at least one MSHSL sponsored athletic program and one arts/activity program
  • Comply with the MSHSL’s Student Code of Conduct

If you would like to be considered for this award, please pick up an application form from Corri Gross in the high school office.  Completed applications must be turned in by Thursday, December 2nd. 

There will be a fishing club meeting during Flex time on Friday in Mr. Carlson's room(shop).

Seniors: Helena Acre HomeGrown Scholarship Program for graduating seniors who will pursue a two or four year degree in an agriculture and/or science major. Apply online at  Applications are due January 30, 2022. 

The Auditorium will be closed during flextime thru this Thursday, November 18th. 

Seniors: Community Giving Scholarship for Foley High School students will open December 1, 2021. Go to for more information and to apply.

There will be a Math League practice on Friday in Mr. Magnuson's classroom during flex time. Swing on by if you are interested!

Freshman boys basketball players:  if you were not able to attend the meeting last week, you need to see Coach Storkamp at some point during the week to get information about practice that starts next Monday the 22nd.

All Wrestlers: Wrestling starts this Monday, November 22, 2021 after school. Please see Mr. Keehler for any questions.

Seniors: Just a quick reminder, if you want to order a "Class of 2022" t-shirt, the deadline is this Sunday,  November 21st.  Go to to order. 

Juniors & Seniors: If you are wanting to take the ASVAB Test next Tuesday, November 23rd, please sign up with Sabine in the Guidance Office by today, November 17th. 

A reminder that we only have 10 days remaining in this trimester and then your grade is final for this term. If you need some extra help, talk with your teacher(s) before or after school or during flextime. If you need a quiet place to study, and some extra help,  please attend the after school program in the media center on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
