FHS Daily Announcements - Wednesday, April 24th

 

-10th and 11th grade students who do not have a school sponsored laptop will need to pick one up from the Media Center prior to your MCA testing period TODAY
11th grade Math MCA
10th grade Reading MCA

 

-On Friday, April 26 a grade review will be conducted at 2:17 PM. If you have any grade that is a D- or lower you will be restricted for Flex beginning on Monday 4/29/24 and lasting for three weeks. If you are on the restricted list you are required to stay in your assigned flex period (unless allowed to leave at teacher request).

If you would prefer to have freedom of movement and choice during your flex time, we encourage you to make every effort possible to have all grades at least a D or higher by Friday, April 5.

Students who are on the restricted list will receive an email. If you believe an error was made when the new list is announced, please see Mr. McMorrow.

 

-The Deficiency List will be run on Friday, April 26th.  If you currently have a failing grade in any of your classes, you will be unable to participate in extracurricular competitions or activities effective Wednesday, May 1st. Please take this time to contact your teachers about how to bring your grade up to passing.  

 

-There will be a prom committee meeting this Friday morning at 7:30 AM in Mrs Keating's classroom.  

 

-Attention all students: The Conservation Club is hosting a can collecting drive to support Earth Day week! Each grade level has their own bin which is located in the locker bay. A random 20 students from the winning grade will receive a free malt!

 

-Applications for Student Council Officers 2024-2025 are due by Friday 4/26

 

-According to school policy, students who have unserved detention are ineligible for dances, activities, to walk at graduation and other similar activities.

This includes prom.

If you have unserved detention and plan to attend prom, detention must be completed by May 3.

“A friendly reminder to our student officer drivers from Officer Cody: The City of Foley has an ordinance prohibiting unreasonable acceleration within the city limits. Unreasonable acceleration is defined by Foley City Ordinance Section 1005:00 as any exhibition of speed causing squealing/screeching sounds emitted by the tires of a vehicle, or throwing of sand, dirt, or gravel by the tires of said vehicle, or both. This is not a state law however you can still be stopped and fined by the city for this misdemeanor offense. Any questions or concerns, feel free to see me anytime. Thank you and drive safe!”
