Support & Safety, Offer Kindness, Achievement, & Respect
SOAR is our school wide expectations that all students can follow. SOAR was developed based on the district's core values. S-Support and Safety, O-Offer Kindness, A-Achievement and R-Respect. These core values will help students remember how to use positive behaviors in all areas of the school. School wide celebrations are periodically earned when all students reach SOAR ticket goals as one team. We also encourage students to practice these positive behaviors in all areas of their lives. Families can also use SOAR at home!
Enforcing SOAR at School:
PBIS ensures that all students are recognized by all staff at school for their positive behavior. Students can earn SOAR at any time during their day at school - starting with their bus ride to school! All staff members can reward students for their behaviors by giving them a SOAR ticket. Students then will place their SOAR ticket in a school wide drawing. Students have a chance to have their name announced Fridays and earn a prize from the office. FES currently has three different types of SOAR tickets that students can earn. They can earn a SOAR ticket from any staff member. A SOAR BUS ticket from riding the bus (or van) to/from school or a Guest Teacher SOAR ticket when a substitute teacher is in the classroom. Staff members also state the positive behavior to encourage students to continue to follow expectations positively.
School Wide Fish Tank
The School Wide Fish Tank is where all of the SOAR tickets are collected. When students reach a black line, a school wide celebration is earned! Past celebrations voted for include hat day, sock day and pajama day.
