FHS Daily Announcements - Monday, September 18th

 

-Student Council members, voting closes today on Homecoming Dress up Days, make sure your voice is heard!

 

-Students are not to be at the Intermediate School before school, after school or during Flex time unless you are in choir.

 

-Reminder:  If you do not have a parking permit in your vehicle, please stop in the High School main office for one.

 

-Ladies grades 9-12 who are interested in going to Girls IN Aviation Day on September 23rd Should see Mr. Wilke during Flex time

 

-Any student 9th-12th grade that is interested in being a part of the Unified Club can come to a meeting on Wednesday September 20th during Flex time. The meeting will take place in the wrestling room.  See Ms.Piepgras or Mr.Crowell with any questions.

 

-Attention 11th grade students who are very strong test takers:

The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) is an optional exam for 11th grade students who test exceptionally well.  Any junior who feels he/she can score in the top ½ of 1% on the PSAT should take the test.  Taking the PSAT and scoring in the top ½ of 1% is the ONLY way to qualify for a National Merit Scholarship.  If you are interested in taking the test, it will be given at Foley High School on Tuesday, October 10th   from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The registration deadline is Friday, September 29th. A $18.00 fee will be required when you register in the Guidance Office.  Please check in with Mr. Dahlstrom or Ms. McIntire with questions.

 

-Attention 11th & 12th graders: Minnesota Education Fair will be held on Thursday, September 21st, at Princeton High School from 1pm - 1:45pm. Up to 75 representatives from Public and Private Universities and colleges, community and technical colleges, and trade and career schools are expected to attend.  Students will need to register before attending the fair. Registration can be done here.

 

-Attention 11th & 12th graders:The annual Minnesota Education Fair will be held on Wednesday, September 27th, at St. Cloud State University. Located at the Halenbeck Fieldhouse from 1pm -2:30pm. Students will need to register before attending the fair https://app.strivescan.com/registration

 

-The After School Credit Recovery Program will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-5:00pm in Room 335 (Foods Lab) starting on Sept. 19th. This program is for students who have failed a course or standard required for graduation. If you have failed a course and are interested in completing it in the After School Program, see Kristi in the Guidance Office.  There are a limited number of spots available and forms are due by September 26th so it is important to get the paperwork back ASAP. 

 

-The After School Homework Support Program will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-5:00pm in Room 335 (Foods Lab) starting on Sept. 19th. This program is for students who need extra help and support on current homework. Students can pick up a parent permission form from Kristi in the Guidance Office and can enroll at any time.  

-Friendly reminder to our student drivers from SRO Vickstrom: Every vehicle must have 2 working headlights and headlights must be on between the hours of sunset to sunrise. Headlights must also be on when we are experiencing weather that affects our visibility on the roadway. Such as rain, snow, sleeting, hailing, or fog.
