FHS Daily Announcements - Wednesday, September 27th

-Remember to vote for Homecoming King and Queen.  Voting is live now through the end of the day (3:00) Thursday 9/28

-Students who have unserved detention are not allowed to go to the Homecoming Dance.

Reminder that if you are applying to be in Minnesota Honor Society (MHS) your application is due by 8am Friday Sept 29 (Paper signatures and digital application) 

-Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for more high schoolers to become Bigs! Spend 30 minutes once a week with an elementary or intermediate student.See Kristi in the guidance office today to learn how to apply!

-We are having some issues getting some products that are on our menus for both breakfast and lunch. Please be patient as we work through these adjustments.

-Any members of the junior class who are interested in being a part of the prom committee, please plan to attend a meeting next Tuesday, October 2nd.  If you are unable to attend, please stop by Mrs. Keating's classroom to discuss being a member.

Reminder:  Seniors please remember to submit your senior photo and quote ASAP.  If you have questions regarding submission of either please reach out to Mrs. Keating. You have received emails with directions for both and information has been posted in the Class of 2024 google classroom. 

If you are bringing a date from a different school to the Homecoming Dance (10/6, after the Football Game) Outside Date forms are available in the media center and must be turned in to the main office by 9/29

-The Gardens at Foley will be here during Flex on Thursday 9/28. Stop by their table outside of the guidance office to learn about job opportunities. 

-Deadline Approaching! Attention 11th grade students who are very strong test takers:

The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) is an optional exam for 11th grade students who test exceptionally well.  Any junior who feels he/she can score in the top ½ of 1% on the PSAT should take the test.  Taking the PSAT and scoring in the top ½ of 1% is the ONLY way to qualify for a National Merit Scholarship.  If you are interested in taking the test, it will be given at Foley High School on Tuesday, October 10th   from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The registration deadline is Friday, September 29th. A $18.00 fee will be required when you register in the Guidance Office.  Please check in with Mr. Dahlstrom or Ms. McIntire with questions.
