“Friendly reminder to our students drivers from Officer Cody: When approaching a vehicle sitting on the side of the roadway whether it is an emergency vehicle with or without its emergency lights activated, a vehicle that is conducting some sort of repair work on the side of the road, or another motorist, please move over to the left or right if safe to do so. Doing so helps ensure the safety of others that are on the side of the roadway. Plus it is the law to move a whole lane to the left or right (depending on the side of the roadway the vehicle is on), when safe to do so, when an emergency vehicle has its lights activated that is sitting on the side of the roadway. You must also reduce your speed. Any questions or concerns, feel free to see me anytime. Thank you and drive safe!”
