FHS Daily Announcements - Thursday, April 18th

-REMINDER:  Juniors and Seniors attending prom, please take the time to submit a response to the Grand March 2024 form that was shared with you in an email Monday.  If you are attending prom with a Foley student, only one of you needs to complete the form but please make certain that one of you takes the time to do so!

-According to school policy, students who have unserved detention are ineligible for dances, activities, to walk at graduation and other similar activities.
This includes prom.
If you have unserved detention and plan to attend prom, detention must be completed by May 3.
Please see Mr. McMorrow if you have any questions.

-All students: Reminder to check the current job postings listed on the guidance office window and on the FHS webpage. Opportunities include Foley Vet Clinic, Falcon Kids Care, City of Foley, Foley Public School - Building and Grounds, Foley Public School - Tech Department, etc.

-Seniors: If you have decided your plans after you graduate - College, Military, or workforce, stop in the Guidance Office to complete a future plans coloring sheet to display in the Guidance Office Window. There is also a map that your officers would like you to “dot” where the college is located. Those who walk by enjoy reading where our graduates are on the road to - Let's fill up the window!

Seniors:  May 1st has in the past been National College Decision Day, the deadline for seniors to pick their college. Due to issues with the new version of the FAFSA, many colleges have delayed that date to later in May or even June. If you plan to attend a college this coming school year, don't forget to confirm your enrollment.  Log onto the college you plan to attend, check the confirmation date, and double check that you have everything completed by the deadline.  If you received a scholarship, make sure that you have accepted that. May 1st also tends to be the deadline for students to complete housing paperwork.  Please check in with the Guidance Office with any questions or concerns.

-Set of keys found, please claim / identify in the main office.

Prom challenge will be May 6th - May 10th. This year we will go up against area schools in a challenge to promote safe driving. The Student Council will be out on Monday May 6th, counting how many people have their seatbelts on and how many drivers are being distracted by their phone and again the following Monday to get a final count.

We will have many fun activities coming in throughout the week. I will have a table set up during all lunches to promote safe driving. Below are the activities we will have for students and staff to try.

Monday: Student Council initial safety count.
Tuesday: Seatbelt Persuader
