Charlie Lawrence, a 2013 graduate of Foley High School and the University of Minnesota, competed in the California International Marathon on December 2nd in Sacramento, California. The marathon served as a qualifying race for the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials. Lawrence ran the 26.2 mile distance in 2 hours and 16 minutes. (2:16:10) and finished the race in 20th place out of nearly 8,000 runners. The Olympic trials qualifying time was 2:19. With this time, Lawrence will compete for a spot on the 2020 Olympic marathon team at the Olympic Marathon Trials in Atlanta in February, 2020. |
