We are excited about our School Readiness Preschool, ECFE Preschool, and ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) Preschool registration which will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Foley Elementary School. Our ECFE and School Readiness programs are taught by licensed staff and trained paraprofessionals who work together to provide children and parents with a positive learning experience. Children should be placed in classes appropriate for their age as of September 1, 2016 and must be toilet trained to attend classes alone. Classes are scheduled to begin in mid-September.
During registration parents will be asked to list a first and second choice of classes and a random drawing will be used to determine class placement, if necessary. This procedure has been implemented to ensure equal opportunity for all Foley School District residents. Classes will be determined at the end of April and a notification letter will be sent out after. Those parents whose children were not selected will be notified with a letter and their $20 deposit check will be returned.
Parents will be filling out several registration papers during the evening of March 22nd including a financial application to determine your tuition payment. Information requested on the application will include the gross monthly salary for your household. A $20 deposit for preschool programs or full payment for the one day per week ECFE parent/child classes, as well as your child’s current immunization record, will be required to complete your registration. The sliding fee scale for tuition will be available at registration. The class availability list is on the backside of this letter.
School Readiness is a 33 week preschool program which will provide your child with some of the building blocks to prepare them for Kindergarten. If you choose to enroll your child in this program they will attend class alone two or three days per week. These classes are for children ages 3 – 5.
ECFE Preschool is also a 33 week program which will help prepare you and your child for Kindergarten. The child will attend class alone for two days (3-5 year old program) and also attends one ECFE class per week with their parent.
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a family oriented program where moms, dads, caregivers and their young children, ages 14 months to Kindergarten, can have fun learning together. This provides time for parents and children to interact in an age appropriate environment with other parents and children. The program recognizes that parents are the first and most important teachers in their child’s life. If enrolled in an ECFE only class, the parent will attend class with the child and spend a portion of the class with their child as well as time in a parent only class.
Please call 968-7286 if you have any questions regarding the registration process or the classes offered. We look forward to seeing you on the 22nd.
